Kiki centres on its eponymous protagonist, it is a single work composed of different parts created by six invited artists/musicians/graphic designers: Aysha Leach, Chloée Maugile, Claudia Lancaster, Ivan Robirosa, Jack Fanciulli, and Middleton Maddocks.
Each produced film segments follows a set of instructions devised by Sara Graça for developing a narrative around Kiki. This structure, that exists between an exquisite corpse and a pyramid scheme, allows all parts to be assembled into a single film. Alongside Kiki, another character — Angel — traverses the entire work. Kiki and Angel are guided by specific traits. Kiki sometimes delights in contemplating things they find beautiful, (almost) always wears something purple on their head, and has a complicated relationship to smoking. Angel, naturally, has wings and suffers an unrequited crush. In Kiki; a film made by many hands and according to a structure by which individual control is intentionally diluted in favour of a shared construction; Sara Graça as the orchestrator is in a position of deliberate constraint.
